THE OLD SWITCHEROO

CREATURE FEATURE FRIDAY

I forgot to mention last week that the the original idea for this strip was given to me by my friend Teresa Burritt.

The Czech is in the mohel.

You can find Teresa's comic strip Frog Applause on GoComics, and you can also click on her Frog Blog under THE BLOGS OF OTHERS at right.

CREATURE FEATURE FRIDAY

Welcome to Creature Feature Friday.

For the next 30 Fridays I'll be running my comic strip Creature Features. The premise, in a nutshell, is animals delivering old movie quotes. Nothing more, nothing less. The major (and minor) newspaper syndicates were not interested, nor were various magazines. An editor at GoComics has been dragging his heels over the idea of running it for so long that I fear his heels have worn through and his feet are bleeding through his argyles.

So, here it is on Night Deposits, the final resting place of projects that went nowhere.

MIDDLE-AGED WHITE GUY MONDAY

This marks the end of Middle-aged White Guy Mondays. There were 60 of them in the vault, and this is the last one. I had originally worked them up as a newspaper comic strip proposal and they were rejected by all of the major syndicates (and several magazines), so I ran them on GoComics, then here. Now they move on to that big comics bonfire in the sky.

But the good news is that Creature Feature Fridays will begin later in the week. (Maybe on... Friday?)

RE-DRAWN FUSCO #3

RE-DRAWN FUSCO #2

RE-DRAWN FUSCO #1

In honor of the the 22nd anniversary of The Fusco Brothers, here's one of several comics that I originally drew as daily strips, then converted to a Sunday format when I signed with Universal Press Syndicate, since I had no Sundays in my original proposal.

(I like the fact that the reference to melons was "in question.")
